Each month we share ideas that have
helped Consultants, Supervisors,
Managers and Executive Managers
make money!
This month we feature
Kelley Kuphall, Manager (WI).
Kelley just promoted to her new
level at
the beginning of August and in June,
qualified for a trip for 2 in the
“Viva Las Vegas” promotion.
Here’s
Kelley’s story:
“I
was first introduced to L’BRI as a
teenager in high school, about 10-11
years ago. I was working part-time
at a retail store when a L’BRI
Consultant did a booth. I was
curious. I told my Mom about it and
we hosted a Show. Both of us really
liked the products and began using
them.
“A
few years later I went off to
college. I had stopped using L’BRI-
a big mistake! I had some skin
issues at the time and tried using
another product line. My skin had a
terrible
reaction. I switched right back to
L’BRI. That was the answer: my skin
glowed and looked great again!
“Just out of college, I was married
and soon had a child. Our little
Micah was born 3 months premature,
weighing just 1 lb., 11 ounces! Our
tiny “Miracle Man” needed extra
care. Although we both had
grandparents willing to babysit, I
felt miserable working part-time and
not being with him. As a new couple
starting out, we needed extra
money. But I wanted to care for my
child at home. Many other young
mothers were working outside their
homes, which really only paid for
their day care. That didn’t make
sense to me! I knew there was money
to be made in direct sales, with the
right company. I loved L’BRI’s
natural, healing and affordable
products. I decided to join as a
Consultant.
“I
asked my Mom to help me to get
started. She was my 1st hostess. I
did well as a Consultant. I ended
up with more money than my friends
who were paying for day care! But I
hadn’t planned any further. One
day, during a Focus Call, Gina
LaGalbo asked me if I had thought
about ‘Leadership’ in L’BRI. No, I
had not. In fact, without Gina
asking me, perhaps I never would
have. But it sure made sense: By
moving up, I could earn more money,
doing the same things that I was
already doing!
“The first two Consultants who
joined my team were good friends,
about my age, which was pretty
young. They weren’t really
“business minded”. I was
disappointed in their results. I
“settled” with their performance,
but was disappointed I wasn’t
promoting faster. Gina encouraged
me to find “older, more mature”
women who were serious about making
money. I took her advice and that
certainly has worked out well!
“My
new Consultants now mostly come from
my Shows. I play the “ticket game”
to get things going. I tell my
“Share & Care Story” (why I’m in
L’BRI) at Shows. I ask guests:
‘What would you do, if you had an
extra $1,000 every month’? I
encourage them to ask me questions.
For each question asked, the guest
receives a drawing ticket for a
prize. That’s a good way to tell if
someone might be interested in
becoming a Consultant.
I
follow-up and schedule “coffee time”
meetings to discuss the L’BRI
Opportunity with those who ask
questions. I learned if you don’t
ask, the answer is automatically
“no”! There are so many women that
we’ll all come in contact with who
won’t
know if L’BRI is something they
want, unless they are asked.
“In
2012 I qualified for my 1st
L’BRI trip and went to San
Francisco. I wasn’t sure that I
could earn the trip. As the
incentive started, I asked my
husband Aaron to help me with a
‘Goal Sheet’, which included a
‘thermometer’, which showed how I
was progressing in points to
qualify. As I promoted, my son
Micah colored in my progress. That
got the whole family involved!
“This year I earned the Las Vegas
incentive, moving up in 2013 to a
Trip for 2, land & air package.
That
really got my husband excited! He
used to be a bit skeptical about my
L’BRI business, but not anymore!
“To
qualify for Manager Level, I knew
the toughest part would be to have 8
qualified Consultants. I strongly
encouraged each of my Consultants to
build her business. Shows are the
#1 way to make money, but everyone
needs to work with their existing
customers. And
each Consultant should add more
customers, every month!
“I
began holding my own team meetings,
in addition to Gina’s monthly
meetings. I recommended that every
Consultant make up a “Dream Board”
to visualize her personal goals and
to keep herself motivated. I
offered a special incentive to each
member of my team who stayed
qualified each month that we were
striving for Manager Level. That
all succeeded!
“My
current goal is to qualify for
Executive Manager Level by November
1. To earn that Level, I have to
‘step it up’ another notch. I’m
encouraging the 6 (Shows) X 2
(Recruits) Plan to earn President’s
Club for everyone of my
Consultants. If I lead, and my team
follows, that goal will be
accomplished!
“I
give my business over to God-
especially before every Show- and
consistently pray for the
opportunity to help other women and
their families. He’s been blessing
my conversations and introducing me
to incredible ladies who I know will
be blessing others in return”.
We’d love to hear about your
success. If your idea is featured,
you will earn a Skin Care Trio.
